4 myths about CBD debunked….

In the past few years, the popularity of CBD has skyrocketed. For this reason, there is a lot of information about CBD online, not all of it, however, is true. If you are considering vaping CBD, it is important you don’t believe any of the myths or misconceptions about it. Below we debunk 4 common CBD myths…

1. Vaping CBD will make you high

THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana and is known to create mild altering effects, e.g. creating the sensation of being ‘high’. CBD, on the other hand, is extracted from hemp and contains less than 0.3% THC. CBD products that are sold legally in the UK cannot have a THC level that is higher than 0.2%, meaning if an individual chooses to vape CBD (even in high quantities) it won’t make them feel high or cause them to fail a drug test.

2. Hemp and marijuana are the same

Although hemp and marijuana are both from the cannabis plant family, they are not the same thing. Hemp is the name given to cannabis that contains 0.3% or less THC. Marijuana, on the other hand, is the name of cannabis that contains a level of THC higher than 0.3%. This is why smoking marijuana has psychoactive side effects, and vaping CBD (which as stated above is taken from hemp) does not.

3. All CBD products are the same and have the same effect

This statement is false. Different CBD products are created for different purposes and can contain higher levels of CBD. Believing all CBD products are the same is equal to believing all caffeinated drinks are the same when the level of caffeine, sugar and added flavours can vary between drinks.

4. CBD works immediately, or not at all

Many people when they try vaping CBD for the first time expect the immediate sensation caused when smoking marijuana. Although some people have noted instantly feeling a positive difference when they begin vaping CBD, the results are not always this fast. For some people, a regular dosage of CBD is needed before it starts to create noticeable effects.
